Meet Berit - CEO/ Founder

Slow Burn was created around a simple idea: you do not have to change your entire life overnight for it to start changing.

I had been taking Lagree classes for years, and like a lot of people, movement became one of the ways I learned to show up for myself. But I also kept noticing the same thing with grip socks. I wanted a pair that actually felt comfortable, stayed put, had serious grip, and came in sizing that felt more inclusive.

As a size 11, finding cute grip socks that actually fit well was harder than it should have been.

So I decided to make my own.

I wanted to create a sock built around the message I already believed in: progress does not have to happen all at once. You can start small. You can take your time. You can build a routine, confidence, strength, and a life you love little by little.

That became Slow Burn.

Our socks are designed with comfort, stability, extreme grip, and inclusive sizing in mind, because something as simple as a grip sock should make you feel supported, not squeezed into something that was never made for you.

But Slow Burn was never meant to be just about socks.

It is about the Pilates class you almost skipped. The morning walk that clears your head. The workout that makes you feel strong again. The small routines that do not seem life-changing in the moment, but eventually become the reason everything feels different.

Why “Slow Burn”?

Because the best things usually take time.

Confidence. Strength. A business. A routine. A relationship with yourself. A life that actually feels like yours.

There is so much pressure to become the finished version of yourself as quickly as possible. Slow Burn exists for the in-between.

For the person who is still figuring it out.

For the person starting again.

For the person becoming someone they are proud of, slowly.

More Than Movement

Movement is where I started, but the message is bigger than that.

Slow Burn is about taking care of yourself without turning your life into another competition. It is about choosing consistency over perfection, creating routines you can actually sustain, and remembering that progress does not have to be dramatic to count.

Some seasons are about pushing yourself.

Some seasons are about slowing down.

Both matter.

My Promise

I want everything I create to feel intentional, functional, comfortable, and fun.

Most importantly, I want Slow Burn to remind you that you are allowed to take your time becoming who you want to be.

There is no perfect starting point.

There is only starting.

We all start somewhere. Start slow.
